Shabbat Chayei Sara
THE SHABBAT PROJECT
Where should we start?!
We wanted to make you all feel special and part of the Shabbat project this year while we are stuck in this weird lockdown.
We were truly touched by the feedback and happiness we felt from the community after all of last week’s events.
The fun started off with a Challah Bake throughout NZ. It was exciting, emotional and fun.
It was great working with both Chabads and Shalom Court to ensure the event was far reaching.
We then dove in deep to The Shabbat Bags. We were amazed at how many people felt so touched and loved by other community members who sent them a special bag. We have received beautiful messages, emails and calls since.
We loved every minute of planning and executing this project and are grateful it made you all feel happy.
It was a pleasure working with small local businesses, some of them community members, some Jewish and some, very kind supporters of our community.
We’ve now formed great relationships and can’t wait to work on more projects for you all… (Did someone say Chanukah?!)
Last but not least, Kabbalat Shabbat. It was awesome working with the Bar & Bat Mitzvah kids so they could participate in the Friday night service and, to top it off, working with Amikam, a sweet, young Rabbi from Israel, very enthusiastic to learn English better, so he can come back and share more songs and stories. We were amazed to see the number of participants in FNL and hope to see you more often at Friday night services, virtually and physically.. :) Here are a bunch of pictures from all the positive craziness last week..
Don’t forget…. Level 3 Lockdown Fun!!
Every morning at 8.30am we have Tefillah with the Kadimah kids. ANYONE is welcome to join. Adults, kids, post Kadimah or never Kadimah. Does not matter. We start by saying a few morning prayers for a brighter day ahead.
We then move on to a Women’s Workout Class at 9.15am to keep our bodies and minds in shape, despite being stuck at home.
There’s been an AMAZING and STRONG group of women joining every morning and it has become a safe zone for all levels and ages. Come, check it out, fun is guaranteed!
We know we said last week would be our last Havdalah but all those who joined requested we continue and seeing we do Havdalah anyway, we’ll be signing on and doing it with whoever wants to join. We know it will be late so we won’t take it personally if you can’t make it :)
Seeing the end of Shabbat time changes every week, we will always be having Havdalah 10 minutes after Shabbat so make sure you look up on the AHC main page and site, exactly what time Shabbat is out.
Looking forward to seeing you there <3
Wishing you all a sunny and hopefully summery Shabbat.
Please feel free to reach out for any help needed.
We would love to have a chat, grab your groceries or medication or just hear you out.
Stay well and healthy, we will get through this!
Sending lots of love and safe virtual hugs for a Shabbat Shalom,
The Fogels
