Auckland’s only Orthodox Synagogue

and Community Centre

AHC has been the hub of Jewish living in Auckland since the 1850s. We remain the largest community in New Zealand.

Our Community Centre at 514 Remuera Rd, Auckland, consists of:

The AHC provides spiritual guidance, Jewish continuity and a sense of community for the Jews of Auckland. Our passionate, dedicated and hard working congregants not only serve the AHC, but proudly contribute to the wider New Zealand community in politics, business, community, social justice, arts and culture, philanthropy and academia.

The AHC may be one of the world’s smaller Jewish communities, but it has a proud history and an exciting future ahead. Whether you want to attend services, grab a Kosher bite, buy Challah, groceries and meat, host your own Simcha, or take a tour – you’ll find what you need at the hub of Auckland’s Jewish community Centre.

We value

  • An unwavering devotion to Halacha (Jewish Law) and tradition.

  • Providing a warm and friendly spiritual atmosphere in which Jews, no matter what level of observance, knowledge or commitment, feel welcomed and inspired.

  • A commitment to society at large where every individual is valued and invited to participate and contribute towards our community.

The AHC centre Started at 108 Greys Avenue in 1968.
