End of term at Kadimah

It was such an interesting and unique term. We are so impressed with the staff and students who have been dealing with this Covid-19 situation in such a calm and brave way. Although it is weird to end a term this way, we feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to keep having T’fila almost every morning with the wonderful kids at Kadimah via zoom.

Collaboration with AUS Shlichim

Together with our fellow Shlichim in Australia, we joined in on an educational panel last week and enjoyed hearing the different questions and takes on the situation in Israel.
Because of these tough times in Israel, we have mixed feelings. On the one hand, it is nice being far from “the mess” and all the issues, but on the other hand, these issues and the mess are part of our life and our future and they have an effect on all of our family and friends living there.
Hoping and praying for things to get better very soon.

Yom Kippur

Despite the restrictions, this Chag was uplifting and very meaningful to us. It was great seeing some community members and cherishing the usual presence of those missing.
We can only hope to see you all again soon when it feels right and safe for each of you. Thank you to all those behind the scenes that put much effort into the services, planning in advance and making sure everything ran smoothly.
A special warm thank you to Natanya Da Costa who sacrificed her personal T’filot in the shul in order to watch all the little ones in the gym. Natanya ran a program that included quizzes, songs and games and she also prepared lots of snacks to keep the children happy.
Without her amazing program, many parents would not have been able to sit comfortably in the service. We are so lucky to have such an amazing volunteer in our community, thank you Natanya : )
May we all celebrate Yom Kippur next year together, in Jerusalem.
Shana Tova!

JNA

SO happy we finally had the amazing JNA team back at our place! This week’s meeting focused on the meaning of a vow. What if I take a vow and dont uphold it? What vows are considered to be ones that cant be undone and more..
It was great watching the group bond, enjoy fried rice and Shnitzel for dinner and, rock a Kahoot! quiz about Succot.
To many more!

Limmud with Mads & Bogrim

This Thursday the mads join in for some fun and learning at our place. Tea, coffee and cake with some good discussions is an excellent way to bond and enjoy : )

Coming up

  • Kids’ minyan this Shabbat : )
Yay! Back on track, please join us this Shabbat for a fun kiddy minyan at 11:00. Can’t wait!

  • Cooking club!
Now that we can enjoy each other’s company a bit more, our cooking class is finally starting and we will be making some traditional (yummy!) food.
    Starting Thursday, October 15th.
Please let us know if you would like to join: 021-488050 Elisheva.

Wishing you all a wonderful Sukkot, may you enjoy the presence of your family, friends and this amazing time of year filled with meaningful Jewish festivals.
Please reach out for anything we can help with during the Chagim, we would love to share recipes, knowledge and anything needed.

Lots of love to all,
The Fogels
