Parashat Ki Tavo
Five simple rules for happiness:
1. Free your heart from hatred (Leviticus 19:17)
2. Free your mind from worries (Talmud Yevamot 63b)
3. Live simply (Psalms 116:6)
4. Give more (Deuteronomy 15:11)
5. Expect less (Jeremiah 45:5)
B’nai B’rith Zoom event with Dvir Abramovich
Huge thank you to B’nai B’rtih for organizing such an interesting and important Zoom event for us all.
We were fascinated to hear everyone speaking and had lots of “food for thought” after such a great initiative.
Back to Kadimah!
So exciting to be back (sort of) with all the great Kadimah students.
Every morning we enjoy T’fila together and have the opportunity to work with each class via Zoom on their T’fila leading skills.
We love seeing the kids sing along and enjoy T’fila even though it’s on Zoom.
Hope to be back in person very soon!
Bnei Akiva
Mad Meeting
At such weird times, the amazing Madrichim of Bnei Akiva are brainstorming on the different ways to keep our youth active.
Alongside a great Saturday night senior Peula, our Mads have some exciting plans up their sleeve and we can’t wait to help them bring these fun ideas to life.
Join our effort and come walk with us to the holy land
BA NZ has joint forces on this amazing journey and is now heading to Israel with BA Australia.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
STEP 1 - Download Strava from the App Store and register
STEP 2 - Go to ‘Explore’, then ‘Clubs’, search ‘Bnei Akiva Aus’ and join the club
STEP 3 - Log your daily walk (record it as a run so it counts to the team goal!)
STEP 4 - Follow your friends and post photos from your walks!!
*1,116/10,945km completed so far*
Only 9,829 more kilometres to get to Israel! GET WALKING!
*Please note, Good Deeds’ Day has been postponed and will be happening, we hope, as soon as possible.
Healing takes time..
We would like to thank the many sweet community members who have been checking up on us over this past week. Eden is still recovering as he now has to fight off an infection he has developed due to the procedure of the brit.
Thank you for your love, prayers and support.
A special thank you to the Halpern-Flacks family who have showered us with food, love and warmth as if we were part of their own family.
We feel blessed to have such a great community here and hope to see you all very soon!
Write it down…
Havdalah! 7:00PM, Saturday night via Zoom. Our Havdalah starts off with the talented Shenkins playing the Karlibach version of Havdalah and moves on to Noam making the Havalah blessings. We end with some great music and the whole meeting takes no more than 10 minutes! It’s the best way to end Shabbat, and we would love you to join in on the fun and bring your kids along! link attached.
Bar & Bat Mitzvah class this Sunday, 10 am, via Zoom. A link will be sent out privately. We look forward to some meaningful studying together.
Wishing you all a wonderful Shabbat.
Shabbat Shalom,
The Fogels
