Bar & Bat Mitzvah- the deep meaning of volunteer work

Last Sunday's bar and bat mitzvah class centered on the importance of volunteer work and its meaning in Jewish values. The class discussed various ways to give back to the community; such as joining a youth movement, visiting the sick, or giving Tzdaka - charity. We emphasised that volunteering is not only about benefiting others but also about personal growth and fulfilment. The students were encouraged to reflect on their own interests and strengths and consider how they can use them to make a positive impact. Overall, the class aimed to inspire the students and give them a sense of responsibility and compassion toward others, which is a core value in Judaism.
