Shabbat Behar-Bechukotai
LAST WEEK…
Mazal Tov Allesia Lord
We extend a big Mazal Tov to the Lord family on such a wonderful Bat Mitzvah. Allesia did an outstanding job leading the Friday night service and spoke beautifully at her Bat Mitzvah celebration.
We had the pleasure of teaching Allesia last year when we had the chance to get to know her and we enjoyed her peaceful, wise presence at each class. May we only share S’michot together!
Bar Mitzvah History
This week’s class focused on Jewish history, BCE, first Temple, second Temple, Romans, Babylonians, Jerusalem and so much more. We enjoyed seeing the group form a closer friendship which improves with each class. The students were interested, had lots of questions and we were impressed with their existing knowledge. Looking forward to next class!
Peula Writing Day with BA
Although camp is only one week long, preparing for it takes about six months. Together with the BA mads, many hours of work, logistics and planning go into that one week, so we can ensure camp is the best it can be.
This past Sunday the team gathered to write their Peulot - the educational information we hope to pass on to our Chanichim.
Each Peula is discussed at length, planned to fine detail and executed in a fun, authentic way so our Chanichim can enjoy and learn at the same time. Well done Josh Sampson and Reuben Beattie for leading the group and this upcoming camp.
Hebrew Club at KadimahThank G-d, Hebrew Club is growing! This week we had 20 kids attend and it was loads of fun.
In light of the Meron tragedy which happened last week in Israel, we learnt about Lag B’Omer, why we celebrate it and what we can learn from our mistakes back to the time of Rabbi Akiva.
We then wrote letters for the kids and families who were injured in the Meron tragedy and learnt some new words like רפואה שלמה and how to use them in a sentence. We will send the letters to Israel this week and hopefully they will put smiles on faces.
