Shabbat Mishpatim

First Bar & Bat Mitzvah class for 2024!

On Sunday, we had our first BM class of the year, and we were so excited!
Our first session was for the kids and their parents, and it was a great pleasure to meet everyone.

We started our day with Tefilah and then moved on to a kids & parents Limmud about the B-Mitzvah tradition and origins.

We are happy to be a part of this important year for our participants and looking forward to having a meaningful and fun year together.

Tefilah in Kadimah

This year, one of our main goals is to focus on Tefilah in the school.
We, along with Yaniv, are learning with the students about the meaning of the prayers, adding new songs and getting to know additional parts of the Tefilah.

One of the additional parts is the Torah reading. We learned that we should read the Torah portion on Shabbat, along with a small part of it on the Monday and Thursday before. We began a tradition of taking out the Torah on Mondays and Thursdays, providing an opportunity for students to read from the Torah and get a close look at the Torah.

Last Thursday, Yuval - one of our brave students - was reading his part beautifully (guided by Yaniv),
and on Monday we heard Rabbi Rube reading for us. The students also participated in opening the ark, taking the Torah from the ark to the Bimah and covering it back after the reading.
We hope that those additions will help our kids be more involved in the Tefilah and get more experience with the service.
