Shabbat Emor

Bar & Bat Mitzvah Class - Yom HaZikaron

On Sunday, we were learnt about Yom HaZikaron and talked about the importance of memory and knowing our past. Ariel shared Erez’s story, Ariel’s dear friend who died as a soldier in a terror attack on January 2017.

In the second part of the class, we were exploring Israel’s map, we learnt about different places and celebrating Yom HaAtzmaut.

We are holding a morning service almost every Sunday at 9am, and we would appreciate it if more community members would be able to join us and help with the Minyan. Thank you!

Yom HaZikaron Community Service at Beth Shalom

On Sunday night, we held an emotional ceremony at Beth Shalom, with a variety of people from all over Auckland. Following the ceremony, we got together for "Sharim V'Zochrim", singing and remembering the Fallen.

Big thank you to the ZFNZ and to Beth Shalom for hosting the ceremony, and to the participants from the AHC, AUJS, Bnei Akiva and Habonim Dror.

Yom HaZikaron Ceremony at Kadimah School

On Monday, after the morning T’filah, we held a ceremony to mark Yom HaZikaron in the school. We spoke about the importance of memory and telling the stories of the fallen and paid our respect with the traditional siren.

A Big thank you to Yaniv, Rabbi Rube and the students for this important ceremony.

Yom HaZikaron to Yom HaAtzmaut Service

On Monday night, we held a special ceremony to mark the transformation from Yom HaZikaron to Yom HaAtzmaut, followed by a celebratory T'filah and dancing.

Even though times are tough, we are grateful to have Israel as our homeland and proud of our strong nation ✡❤

Celebrating Yom HaAtzmaut with Kadimah students

On Tuesday, Yom HaAtzmaut, we celebrated Israel’s birthday with years 1-4 with some wonderful activities! Along with Yaniv, Rinat and Inbal, we had fun activities with the map of Israel, and learned a lot about it through tasks and questions.

Happy Birthday Israel! To many more happy and peaceful years ✡
