Here are some for you to enjoy…

Community Lunch

After an amazing night, we brought the Shabbat project back to the AHC and enjoyed a fantastic community Shabbat lunch with members.
We spoke about the importance of getting to know each other in order to call ourselves a community and played a fun “speed-date” together. We didn’t know if the community would “play along” but we were pleasantly surprised to see everyone joining in and making the best of a Shabbat afternoon together. Thank you to the Kosher Deli for the yummy food and to those of you who came along!

Staying with the basics..

This week’s Hebrew club focused on colours, days of the week and ways to combine them in sentences. We are sticking to basics as those are the main words needed to create sentences and have a conversation in Hebrew. Hebrew club is special to us because it is a conversational Hebrew club.
When learning Hebrew in school, you usually don’t get all the tools needed to create a conversation. It is more the knowledge of the language and what it holds, less about the usage.
In Kadimah, the kids are lucky to learn a lot of Hebrew through songs, something to help them memorise words and understand context. In our Hebrew club we try to give useful and needed basic words and tools.
