Shabbat Tzav
Arbel’s Kiddush 🌼
Last Shabbat we had a wonderful time with the community, celebrating Arbel’s arrival. Here is a part of what we said there:
“Shabbat Shalom, everyone,
The birth of a child is always a significant moment, but when we welcomed our daughter two weeks ago, it became a particularly special occasion in many ways. As you know, Arbel is our second child – a little sister to our sweet boy Tomer – yet she is the first born here, far from the family and home we have back in Israel. That’s why it was so important for us to choose a name that connects her to our roots and always reminds her (and us) of her origin.
The name Arbel comes from the breathtaking Galilee landscape, where Mount Arbel rises above the Sea of Galilee – the Kinneret. To us, this place symbolises the beauty and strength of the Land of Israel, and it also conveys a deep sense of connection—not only as the very place where Ariel and I met, but also to the heritage and tradition we wish to pass on to future generations.
We see Mount Arbel as representing stability, strength, and open spaces – precisely what we wish for our baby girl: that she grows up with deep roots and wide wings, with an open heart and the courage to follow her own path.
Here, we would also like to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks to you, our community members, for the warmth, care, and support you showed us since we arrived to New Zealand, during the pregnancy and after the birth. Thanks to you, we felt a home being built around us here, and your love provides us, along with Arbel and Tomer with a warm, supportive environment in which we can all grow.
Finally, we thank Hashem for this blessed addition to our family and for the light and goodness He brings into our lives. Every day we marvel at the small and great gifts that come our way, and the blessing that Hashem bestows upon us is a constant reminder to remain grateful and to share that light with others.
"בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה' אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם הַגּוֹמֵל לְחַיָּבִים טוֹבוֹת, שֶׁגְּמָלַנִי כָּל טוּב”
Thank you very much!”
