Zoom meeting for Shnat 2025✨
Last Thursday, we had an important Zoom meeting with potential Shnat Hachshara (gap year in Israel) participants for next year and their parents. We were talking to representatives from Masa, World Bnei Akiva and Erman Trust and the participants had the chance to gather information about their options and to ask questions.
Challah making with Preschool
Last Friday, we joined our sweet preschool kids for a fun and interactive experience of making Challahs together! Roni explained the recipe, we talked about measuring the ingredients, how the yeast helps the dough to rise, how long it takes to rise and how the dough changes when exposed to the intense heat of the oven. The children understood the instructions well and showed great patience as they practiced their baking skills and each made their own little challah.
It was a wonderful morning, and we had so much fun with the kids :)
Bnei Akiva’s KabShab 🕯
Our amazing Madrichim and Chanichim who joined for the Friday night service at the AHC, made it an incredible evening!
We enjoyed seeing you all there, singing and dancing to welcome Shabbat 🙏🏼
After the service, all of the Mads came to our house and we bonded over Ariel’s incredible chicken soup with Matzo balls 😊
Bar & Bat Mitzvah Class for Tisha B’Av
This class was focused around Tisha B’Av, the upcoming fast we will be having next week. We were learning about the day, talking about ways to improve the environment we live in and how can we help our friends when they need us.
JNA’s first meeting 🎉
This Tuesday we had our first JNA meeting - Jewish Noar (teens) of Auckland :)
This group is for Jewish boys and girls who are in school years 9 - 13, and we will have monthly meetings and fun events :)
We had an interesting conversation - about the differences between driving in Israel and in New Zealand, about the difficulties in learning Hebrew (or any new language) and to the current situation in Israel and the way it affects us here in our day-to-day lives.
We were happy to see that the kids feel safe to start a conversations about things that bother them and it was a very successful evening :)
