Last week…

Last week ended with two incredible events that remind us of the community's power.

JYA- young adult's night, was a wonderful gathering of Jewish young adults who came together to share food and laughter. Seeing the connections and relationships that form when we have a space to gather with each other is always heartening.

Secondly, Fridays Pesach Seder at the Kadimah school was a powerful reminder of the importance of education and community. The school provided a space for the students to come together and share in the traditions of the holiday as we had a Pesach Seder. It was truly amazing to take part in the planning, execution, and hard work many put into the event.

We're grateful for these spaces and events that allow us to connect as a community, celebrate our traditions, and feel a sense of togetherness.

Bar & Bat Mitzvah Seder plates

Sunday’s Bar and Bat Mitzvah class was a deep and fun learning experience. During our class, we delved into the significance of the symbols that go on the Seder plate and how they represent important elements of the Passover story. It was fascinating to explore their deeper meanings and reflect on how we can relate to them in our daily lives. To put our new found knowledge into practice, we then had each student create their own Seder plate. Which was a hands-on creative way to engage with the lesson. Hearing the students repeat the different symbols, and meanings and how they can implement them into their Seder and daily lives, was a meaningful ending to the class. We hope the class allowed the students to deepen their understanding of Jewish traditions and connect with our Jewish heritage.

Happy Birthday Malindy!

This week’s meeting started with a small surprise for our team leader, Malindy.
What can be better than celebrating a special day for a special person?!
We are grateful for all the community work, commitment, and love Malindy gives and thank her deeply for her constant care for our community, the new site, and most important, the people in it.
Yom Huledet Sameach!

Thank you to the amazing Vinita, Eleasha, and Maxine De Jong for all their hard work this past Sunday getting ready for the Bnei second Seder.

As parents, it is crucial that we provide our children with the guidance and support they need when pursuing their Jewish community involvement, such as participating in Bnei Akiva. While we may emphasize the importance of volunteering, it is equally important that we are there to lend a helping hand and empower them to succeed. By offering our time, resources, and expertise, we can help our children navigate the challenges that come with pursuing ambitious goals, and in still in them the confidence and resilience they need to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

Shabbat Shalom :)
